Our film poster photo ideas
[Work created by me]
Location: Locker room – Neale Wade Community College
Actors/actress’: Hetty Cliss and Hannah Van Koppenhagen
Costumes: Erica - At school: white shirt, student leader tie, black trousers, blazer, glasses.
Samantha - At school- white shirt, normal tie, black skirt, jewellery (same for all photo ideas)
Props: Physics text book, glasses, necklace and bracelet, eyeliner, compact mirror
Equipment hire/booked: none
Time and date: Friday 8th January, 11.15 am – 12.55pm
Shot types: Mid shot – shows Popular girl Samantha and geeky girl Erica in the same shot. Samantha (Hetty Cliss) is looking in her mirror to signify her vanity, a stereotypical quality of characters such as this in Rom-Coms already out there. Her uniform will be out of place and jewellery will be visible to show her rebellious side to the school rules. This will be done to contrast this character with Erica (Hannah V.K) as her costume is presented neatly and she will be shown with a book and glasses as props. This clearly shows her type of character which is also stereotypical to existing Rom-Coms. The location we have chosen will be in a locker room in a school to show a stereotypical setting where these two types of character would intervene. The type of shot will be used to show Hetty and Hannah’s facial expressions: Hetty showing a visable attitude and Hannah being engaged in her book. This shows the characters interests. We will also use a Long shot and Wide Shot for this idea to show the full costume to show the characters further: Hetty wearing a skirt and Hannah full length trousers. This represents the stereotypical characters that they are and the audience will clearly be able to tell them apart and see what kinds of characters they are.
The second idea we have had, using the same location, is that these characters will chance props to represent they have switched places in the film, intriguing the audience we are trying to approach. Hetty and Hannah will be presented in a Long shot to show their whole costume but this time Hetty (the popular girl, now turned geeky) will be shown with glasses and a book. Hannah will be shown putting on make-up and looking into the compact mirror this time to represent the change that occurs in our storyboard. The audience will be confused by this obvious mix up and be intrigued by the film’s contents.
Location: A bench outside – in Neale Wade school grounds
Actors/actress’: Hetty Cliss and Hannah Van Koppenhagen
Props: Physics text book, glasses, necklace and bracelet, eyeliner, compact mirror
Equipment hire/booked: none
Time and date: Friday 8th January, 11.15 am – 12.55pm
Shot types: We want to create the same image again. We will use a Long shot of the two characters sitting on the bench together. The costume and props will be the same as above and will serve the same purpose as before. This time however, the characters will be sitting and Hetty is shown to take up most of the bench with her pose. This is to signify her important reputation and how she is at the top of the social circle, giving Hannah (Erica) no attention and doesn’t care she even sitting there. We will use another Long shot to show the two characters switching places again. They will have swapped props and doing similar poses as before when in the Locker room location. This time, Hannah will have changed her hair style to represent further her changed personality and that Samantha is, in fact, inside her. The location we have chosen for this is ironic as the characters wouldn’t be sitting together at school but is to refer to the fact that they are more alike than they thought, by switching places.
Location: Neale Wade common room
Actors/actress’: Hetty Cliss and Hannah Van Koppenhagen
Props: Physics text books, glasses, necklace and bracelet, pen, compact mirror, paper, table and chairs
Equipment hire/booked: none
Time and date: Friday 8th January, 11.15 am – 12.55pm
Shot types: We will use another Long shot to show the characters and the props in the frame. We have chosen to use tables and chairs as props to create our own classroom setting. Erica (Hannah) will be placed at the front of the shot on the first table surrounded by text books. This is to show how hardworking and nerdy she is. Her facial expression will show she is engrossed by the books. Samantha (Hetty) will be shown in the background, on the opposite side of her table to Erica. This is so the audience can see her clearer and what she is doing. Hetty will be shown holding a piece of paper, ready to throw at Hannah (Erica). This is to show how unaware Hannah is of what Hetty is about to do and also to show Hetty’s rebellious side as her stereotypical character Samantha. Hetty’s text book will be closed to signify she isn’t paying attention and all she wants to do is pick on Hannah (Erica). Our selected audience will clearly be able to see this and tell what kind of character they are dealing with. As this is stereotypical to schools everywhere, this will attract people to the film as they can compare it to their own lives.
